A speech pathologist is a specialist in communication and language development. They are trained to assess, diagnose, and support individuals with a wide range of speech, language, social communication, and literacy difficulties. In paediatric practice, speech pathologists work to identify these challenges in children and guide families toward effective support.

I Spy Speech works with children aged 2-18 years of age.

At I Spy Speech our assessments are broken up into 3 distinct parts:

1. Initial Assessment Session - 1 hour face to face and 1 hour of indirect time.

2. Follow-up Session - 45 minutes face to face 15 minutes of indirect time.

3. Collaborative Support Plan Meeting - 1 hour face to face meeting with yourself to discuss the assessment results and determine goals.

In your first session you can expect your speech pathologist to take a caring, whole-child approach. We’ll get to know your child through play, conversation, and family input, while also looking at their overall communication, literacy and learning skills. Formal assessments may also be used as a tool to gather data depending on your child's needs and age. Together, we’ll build a clear picture of your child’s communication and how best to support them.

Currently I Spy Speech charges for sessions in line with the NDIS pricing guidelines of $193.99 per hour. For more specific quotes on services please get in touch and we can send out our fee schedule.

"Direct time" references the time directly spent with your child and family to support you by delivering therapeutic interventions.

"Indirect time" is just as valuable to the therapeutic process and allows us to comply with the legal requirements of documenting our sessions and monitoring progress, in addition to planning the next appointments SUPER FUN activities!
